Hammers prepare again for Friday

The Lakeside Hammers are back in action this Friday, 2nd September, with their last Elite League meeting of this season against the Birmingham Brummies, following their original attempt to meet being called off last Friday.

The task for the home team is the same as it was last Friday with all three Elite League points crucial to keep the team’s play off hopes alive.

The Hammers team shows one change to that prevented from taking to the track last Friday with Ty Proctor replacing Kauko Nieminen, who has to ride for his Premier League club, the Leicester Lions.

The Hammers Co Promoter, Jon Cook, commented: “It’s a must win, make or break, meeting and, ideally, we would have had this out the way already. The team has been in great form recently and it’s a bonus to have Ty (Proctor) back with us so soon as he fitted in well here in our match against Peterborough. Results elsewhere are still falling in our favour and this is a hugely exciting race to be part of in our attempt to claim a place in the Play Offs. When the season started you want to be in the Play Off hunt come your last meeting and credit to the team for having overcome a string of injuries and poor form to put us in that position.”

The action against the Birmingham Brummies gets underway at 8pm at the Arena-Essex Raceway this Friday, 2nd September, with the Grand Parade of Riders scheduled for 7.45pm. Tickets will be available from the paybooths on the night of the meeting or may be purchased in advance via the Club’s website at www.lakesidehammers.co
