Britain’s best and future in cup clash

Belle Vue Aces Chris Harris will go head to head with possibly Britain’s best up and coming future star Robert Mear of the Lakeside Hammers on Friday, 30th September, when the Aces visit Lakeside in the Knockout Cup Semi Final.

Mear was the unexpected star of the Sky Sports dual Play Off Semi Final on Monday in a performance that has earned the Hammers youngster rave reviews and he now takes on top Great Britain star Harris who arrives fresh from his best Grand Prix meeting of this season last Saturday, which took place in Croatia.

The Hammers will be hoping to take a lead up to Manchester for next week’s second leg and name the same team as the Play Off match against Eastbourne at the Arena-Essex Raceway.

The expected line-ups are:-

Lakeside Hammers – 1. Lee Richardson (Great Britain), 2. Peter Ljung ( Sweden), 3. Stuart Robson (Great Britain), 4. Jonas Davidsson ( Sweden), 5. Rider Replacement for Piotr Swiderski (Poland ), 6. Robert Mear (Great Britain), 7. Kim Nilsson (Sweden ).

Belle Vue Aces – 1. Rory Schlein (Australia), 2. Patrick Hougaard ( Denmark), 3. Jordan Frampton (Great Britain), 4. Charlie Gjedde ( Denmark), 5. Chris Harris (Great Britain), 6. Ricky Kling ( Sweden), 7. Lukasz Jankowski (Poland).

The action will get underway at the Arena-Essex Raceway with the first race at 8pm with the Grand Parade of the participating riders at 7.45pm.

Normal admission prices will apply for Friday’s important Cup match. These are: – Adults – £16, Senior Citizens, Students and Disabled – £12, Unemployed and Children aged 17 and 18 – £10 and Children aged 6 to 16 inclusive – £3. Children under the age of 6 are free provided they are accompanied by a paying adult. Proof of age or status may be requested.
