Joy for Adam

There was joy for Vortex Lakeside Hammers Elite draft Rider Adam Ellis last night, when he finished second in the European Under-21 semi-final at Macon, France on twelve points with three race wins.

Hammers team manager and GB Youth boss Neil Vatcher, who travelled to France with the young British rider, commented “Adam was unreal, finishing second behind Czech Republic rider Zdenek Holub. It’s a great night for British Speedway.”

Elsewhere, the Hammers Danish Star Mikkel Bech suffered dissapointment in his Under 21 semi-final in Brovst, Denmark, where he finished 8th and just outside the qualification cut off. Mikkel was in the hunt for a qualification place and was leading heat 18 when it was red flagged. In the re-run Mikkel unfortunately went through the tapes and was disqualified.

Kim Nilsson also suffered heartache in his SGP qualifier in Terenzano, Italy, where he finished 8th after a three rider run off for the 6th and final qualification place.  The Hammers Swedish rider was leading in his 4th ride to move on to 10 points, before his cut out came out on the last corner and he ended up last.
