Adam Shields further update

The Hammers injured Australian rider, Adam Shields, returned to hospital yesterday for a further appointment following the knee injury he sustained in the Great Britain v Australia Test Match, which took place at the Arena-Essex Raceway on 3rd June.

He has been told that he must go back again to the hospital in three week’s time so it is likely that Adam will be out of action for at least a further month.

Hammers Co Promoter Jon Cook has decided to operate the ‘Rider Replacement’ facility until Adam has been seen by the specialist again and the position regarding his injury becomes clearer.

This facility will enable any of the remaining Hammers riders to take an additional ride.

With the British Grand Prix in Cardiff due to take place this Saturday there will be no action at the Arena-Essex Raceway this Friday (24th June) with the Hammers next home meeting scheduled for Friday 1st July when the opponents will be the Belle Vue Aces in the ‘B’ Elite League fixture.
