All systems go for the Hammers

The Lakeside Hammers are ready for one last push in their efforts to gain a place into the Play Offs as they complete their Elite League campaign tomorrow, Friday 26th August, against the in form Birmingham Brummies.

A win by at least seven race points and, therefore, the three League points for the home side will mean that the chasing pack headed by the Coventry Bees and the Peterborough Panthers will have to win away to take the Essex team out of the Final top four in the League table.

In addition Kings Lynn also have to face Peterborough plus the Panthers and the Bees have to meet twice, The possible permutations are numerable with the Hammers, should they take victory over the Brummies and reach 46 points, possibly holding the ace cards.

With a forecast of morning rain and then light showers possible in the afternoon the Club have cancelled the planned Training School to ensure the League meeting goes ahead in the evening with best possible track conditions.

Because of the anticipated high interest in the meeting, coinciding with the last Bank Holiday weekend of the year, fans travelling from the east are advised that the Top Gate entrance adjacent to Lakeside Karting will be opened from 6.30pm should there be a traffic build up.

The action against the Birmingham Brummies gets underway at 8pm at the Arena-Essex Raceway with the Grand Parade of Riders scheduled for 7.45pm.

Admission prices are: Adults – £16, Senior Citizens, Students and Disabled – £12, Unemployed and Children aged 17 and 18 – £10, Children aged 6 to 16 inclusive – £1 with children under 6 – Free if accompanied by an paying adult. Proof of age or status may be asked for.
