Arena Essex Hammers ride again

Hammers Promoter Jon Cook commented  “the Met office are giving a forecast for heavy showers all afternoon and as we have dates available for a restaging we have taken the decision early to avoid costs & inconvenience for the club, riders & supporters alike.”

It’s true local derby action this Friday, 25th July, at the Arena Essex Raceway as the Vortex Hammers take on the Kent Kings in National League action.

Racing under their former name of the Arena Essex Hammers the young home team will be led by first team reserves Ben Morley and Adam Ellis as well as promising Club asset Jack Kingston from nearby Tilbury.

The Kings who race out of Sittingbourne just 30 miles away make their first ever visit to the Raceway.

The Hammers Promoter Jon Cook commented: “Local pride is obviously on the line but there’s a lot on this meeting as we gauge whether a full National League team is a possibility to add to our Academy programme as another step in ultimately building a home grown first team.”

Reduced admission of £12 for adults applies while all school age children are just £1.

The action will get underway at the Arena Essex Raceway with the parade of riders at 7.45pm with the first race scheduled for 8pm .
