Emil in – Hammers sweat on Piotr

Speedway’s Russian sensation Emil Sayfutdinov will make his eagerly awaited first ever appearance at the Arena-Essex Raceway this Saturday, 6th August, after he was confirmed in the Coventry team for the fixture that is sure to be a Saturday night sensation as the Hammers switch, for one night only, from their traditional Friday action.
Emil has set the Speedway world alight in the last three seasons and has been the most exciting addition to the Elite League in years having joined the Midlands club in an effort to spearhead their charge back into Play Off contention and a retention of their League Title.

The Hammers themselves have serious Play Off ambitions and are currently fourth in the table. They are sweating on the fitness of Polish star Piotr Swiderski, who has missed their last two meetings with an ankle injury and they will name their team on Friday to give the rider as much time as possible to recover.

The Coventry team for Saturday is: Emil Sayfutdinov (Russia), Rider Replacement for Kenni Larsen (Denmark), Ryan Fisher (USA), Przemyslaw Pawlicki (Poland), Edward Kennett (Great Britain) Nick Morris (Australia) and Travis McGowan (Australia).

The meeting starts at 8pm on Saturday. The Arena-Essex Raceway is situated next to the Thurrock services on off junction 30/31 of the M25 just north of the Lakeside Shopping complex. Admission prices are: Adults – £16, Senior Citizens, Students and Disabled – £12, Unemployed and Children aged 17 -18 – £10, Children aged 6-16 inclusive – £1 (a school holiday special ’Kids for a Quid’ promotion) with children under 6 – Free. Proof of age or status may be asked for. Tickets will be available from the paybooths on the night of the meeting or may be purchased in advance via the Club’s website at www.lakesidehammers.co
