Hammers make the Play Offs

The Lakeside Hammers are celebrating after reaching the Elite League Play Offs following results involving their rivals on Monday night.

The team have overcome season ending injuries to two of their stars, to battle through to the end of season deciders for the third time in the five year reign of Promoters Stuart Douglas and Jon Cook.   It has already been confirmed that the team will race the first leg at home next Monday (19th September) with the second leg away seven days later.  The Hammers opponents will be either Poole or Eastbourne with table topping Poole, who beat the Hammers to the title in 2008, making their final decision within 24hours.

Jon Cook commented “We are absolutely delighted that a seasons hardwork has seen is reach our goal and now we intend to be in it to win, as fingers crossed this is the first time we have reached this stage of the season with a full squad to choose from all be it with replacements for Adam Shields and Piotr Swiderski.

In fact as things stand we actually have one too many riders and will need to choose between Kakke or Robbo, which is a very nice dilemna to be in. Whoever we end up with we feel we can give a real go and we can’t wait for monday.”
