Hammers miss out at Leicester

The Vortex Lakeside Hammers suffered a  51-42 loss at Leicester tonight, but were still in with a shout of an away point in the final nominated heat 15.

With the scores level after heat 6, the Lions then gained the advantage, opening a 10 point lead by heat 9.  The Essex team however clawed back 7 points and were only 3 points adrift at heat 12, before the home team delivered a 5-1 in heat 13 and a 4-2 in the nominated heat to secure all the league points.

Guest Hans Andersen, in for injured skipper Andreas Jonsson top scored with 15, whilst Mikkel Bech scored 9 paid 10. Reserve Adam Ellis chipped in with seven points, including two heat wins.
