Hammers Social Committee launches
The Lakeside Hammers are proud to formally announce the creation of a brand new Social Committee. The members of the committee all answered a ‘call to arms’ issued during the winter and have volunteered to assist the club by taking responsibility for the organisation and planning of important social functions and events.
Members of the Committee are Russell Keetch, Sarah Smallbone, Diane & Brian Allmark, Dean Compton and Geoff & Shirley Langley and the club would like to thank them all for their help.
Although we are only just approaching Easter, the first event ‘in the diary’ is the End of Season Celebration which will place at the Thurrock Hotel (Ship Lane, Aveley, RM19 1YN) on Saturday 1st November from 7pm.
The event will include a 3 course dinner, speeches from the riders & management and dancing ‘till late’ with extra surprises in store including some special guests. Tickets are priced at just £37.50 and supporters can reserve their place on payment of a £15 deposit. The balance of £22.50 must be paid in full and by 31st August 2014. Please note that representatives of the Social Committee are unable to accept any other payments in partial settlement of the cost of a ticket.
There are 150 tickets available for sale on a first come, first serve basis for this not to be missed evening. Information about how to reserve discounted overnight room rates at the Thurrock Hotel will be available soon.
As announced in last week’s match day programme, tickets for the Hammers’ end of season celebration evening, can be purchased outright, or reserved on payment of the deposit, from this Good Friday’s afternoon meeting when the Vortex Hammers take on the Eastbourne Eagles.
A representative of the Social Committee will be located next to the ReRun Productions outlet under the Raceway Tavern before Friday’s meeting and at every home meeting this season to take bookings and provide information about the event.
