Hammers suffer further injury

The Lakeside Hammers will now include Cameron Woodward in their team tonight, which takes on the Swindon Robins in the Elite League, after the withdrawal of Peter Ljung.

Ljung visited a specialist for his on-going shoulder problem in Sweden yesterday and was given an injection in the shoulder and told to take a break from racing.

The full Hammers line-up for this evening’s meeting in racing order is, therefore:

1. Lee Richardson (captain), 2. Cameron Woodward 3. Davey Watt 4. Rider Replacement for Kauko Nieminen, 5. Piotr Swiderski 6. Robert Mear 7. Kim Nilsson.

The annual collection in aid of the Injured Riders Benevolent Fund will now be made at the Raceway this evening following the decision not to proceed with it last Saturday due to the weather conditions during the meeting against Coventry.

The action gets underway this evening against the Robins at the Arena-Essex Raceway at 8pm with the Grand Parade of Riders scheduled for 7.45pm.

Admission prices are: Adults – £16, Senior Citizens, Students and Disabled – £12, Unemployed and Children aged 17 and 18 – £10, Children aged 6 to 16 inclusive – £1 (special ‘Kids for a Quid’ offer during August) with children under 6 – Free if accompanied by an paying adult.
