The Lakeside Hammers Community Programme is proud to announce that Little Havens Hospice will continue to be the club’s Regional Charity throughout 2016.

Little-Havens-Hospice Little Havens Hospice is set in beautiful woodland near Thundersley, Essex and cares for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, throughout the journey of their illness. As the charity receives limited government funding and is not part of the NHS, it has to raise £46,000 every week to provide the care and services that are required.

The partnership is entering its third year as part of the clubs Community Programme, and will see the 2016 Lakeside Hammers featuring the Little Havens logo on their race suits and the club will also continue to donate advertising and promotional space at the Arena Essex Raceway.

The Hammers will hold a collection in aid of Little Havens and as was the case in both 2014 and 2015, the club will be encouraging all fans and partners to contribute funds as part of  the ground-breaking #makeeverypointcount pledge campaign.

Peter Hall, Community Fundraiser for Little Havens Hospice, commented;

“ Little Havens Hospice is delighted that Lakeside Hammers are continuing with their support for the charity during the 2016 season. We would like to thank all the team at Lakeside Hammers including riders and the fans for their dedicated and ongoing support.

The generous donations received from supporters will allow us to continue caring for babies, children, teenagers and families living with serious and life limiting illness from across Essex, including Thurrock.”

Hammers Community Liaison Manager Mark Sexton visited the Hospice again over the close season to hand over funds raised by the Hammers unique #makeeverypointcount campaign which goes a very small way to ensuring that the Hospice can continue to offer world-class standard of care and facilities.

Mark added

“The Hammers are very grateful to have the opportunity to support this wonderful charity once again in 2016 and we’re determined to do what we can to help increase the profile of Little Havens Hospice and to assist their fundraising to ensure that their vital work can carry on.”
