Hammers v Fen Tigers -Raceday update

4.15 Update:

Hammers Nick Laurence out due to illness.  Rider Replacement will cover his rides

Lakeside star Alfie Bowtell says the Vortex Hammers recognise the importance of tonight’s key home clash with Mildenhall (8pm).

The Purfleet side were well beaten by the Fen Tigers last weekend and with the chase for a play-off place hotting up, maintaining their 100 per cent home record could be crucial for the Hammers.

Bowtell, who joined Lakeside from Mildenhall over the winter, admits it’s a must win fixture.

“Nothing’s guaranteed at all and there’s still a lot of hard work to be done if we want to get into the play-offs, he said.

“We know this is a big meeting because things are getting tighter than ever at the top.

“I want another big one against Mildenhall and hopefully I can have a good one against them and while it won’t be easy, hopefully we can smash them in the end.”

Lakeside use Steve Boxall and Tom Bacon as guests for Ben Morley and Zach Wajtknecht while Alex Spooner comes in for Jamie Couzins at reserve.
