Jonas Davidsson statement

Swedish star Jonas Davidsson has today informed the Club that he will not be returning to the UK for the rest of the season. Jonas feels that his lack of form and confidence is a hindrance to the Club’s aspirations and he wishes to finish the season early and spend the winter working to get back to his former status.

The club have been aware of this looming situation since last week and the BSPA have been forewarned and, as a result, the ‘Rider Replacement’ facility has been granted with Jonas deemed to be withholding his services. The Club is continuing talks with a target rider but results elsewhere in Europe mean that both Peter Ljung and Tomas Jedrzejak will now have Play offs to contest and will not be returning to the Club as hoped.

Jon Cook commented: “Sadly Jonas has had enough and, despite a great meeting in Poland on Sunday, he feels he is putting himself under too much pressure to return to form here in the UK. His return was well intentioned by all parties but has not worked and we wish him well. We now have to concentrate on the week ahead and hope to have a new face in quickly”.
