No slip ups from here on for the Hammers

The Vortex Lakeside Hammers take on the Elite League new boys, the Leicester Lions, at the Arena Essex Raceway this Friday, 13th June, with boss Jon Cook warning against complacency as his team maintained its Play Off push with a hard fought draw away at  Belle Vue on Monday, which was shown live on Sky Sports 1.

Jon Cook stated: “We’ve had a great seven days but our thrashing of Belle Vue at our Raceway last Friday still came with a poor end to the meeting and with Leicester boasting three solid heat leaders, the in form Simon Stead and now British Under 21 Champion Josh Bates, this meeting will be far from a walk in the park.”

Teams for Friday:-

Vortex Lakeside Hammers: Davey Watt (Captain), Richard Lawson, Mikkel Bech, Lewis Bridger, Peter Karlsson, Ben Morley, Adam Ellis.

Leicester Lions: Jason Doyle, Simon Stead, Mads Korneliussen (Captain), Lasse Bjerre, Rory Schlein (Guest for Patrick Hougaard), Max Clegg, Josh Bates.

This Elite League match will get underway with the parade of riders at 7.45pm with the first race at 8pm. However, for those fans that arrive early there will be three junior demonstration races involving youngsters Nathan Ablitt, Tom Brennan, Jason Edwards and Sam Hagon, which will start prior to the main event at 7.30pm
