Robins swoop against Hammers

The Vortex Lakeside Hammers suffered frustration for the second consecutive evening on the road when they went down 50-39 against the Swindon Robins.  The Hammers were hit earlier in the day with the withdrawal of Mikkel Bech following his crash at Belle Vue the night before.  Former Robins rider Kyle Howarth came in as a guest at late notice.

In a similar style to last nights defeat at Belle Vue, the Essex team had battled hard and were still in touch with the Robins at heat 12, when only 3 points down. The Robins then progressed with three heat advantages to take the Elite League points.  For the Hammers, Edward Kennett top scored with 11, whilst Skipper Andreas Jonsson weighed in with 10 paid 12.

The Hammers will be looking to gain revenge when the two sides meet tomorrow night in the return at the Arena Essex Raceway.
