Saturday night delight for fans

Speedway fans are in for a treat this Saturday night as all roads lead to the Arena-Essex Raceway where the Lakeside Hammers take on the King’s Lynn Stars in the Sky Sports Elite League.

This is only the second Saturday action of recent times as the Hammers return to what was at one time a regular night of action in Essex.

It could be make or break time for the Hammers team too after a ‘so so’ start to their League campaign that sees them sitting mid table with work to be done to reach the all important Play Offs come September.

The Hammers Co promoter Jon Cook commented: “It’s really exciting to be presenting Saturday night racing to the fans at our Raceway and we hope the team sets up to the mark and provides again the superb entertainment we have seen so far this season plus many would have seen live on TV on Monday. League points are crucial as ever and it’s the perfect night for the first timer to come and see what Speedway is all about.”

The Lakeside Hammers race at the Arena-Essex Raceway, which is situated next door to the M25 Thurrock Services Essex side of the Dartford River Crossing. Gates open at 6pm with the rider pits also open for fans until 7.00pm.  The Grand Parade will be at 7.45pm with the first race going to tapes at 8pm.

As usual, tickets will be available on the night at the pay booths, which are situated at the top of the approach road.  Fans may pay either by cash or by credit/debit cards. Those who wish to purchase their tickets in advance can do so via the Club’s website at
