Saturday night Hammers fever

Saturday night Speedway action arrives at the Arena Essex Raceway this week as the Vortex Lakeside Hammers face their toughest test of the season so far with the visit of the highly fancied Coventry Bees.

The Hammers will be looking to keep their own Play Off hopes on track after missing the opportunity to win at Wolverhampton on Monday and with Co-Promoter Jon Cook feeling the team has still not reached its full potential.

Cook commented: “May’s fixtures pit us against all the title favourites with Coventry first up. We are currently averaging two points a match, Play Off form, but I feel we still haven’t seen the best of our team. Saturday is a very stiff test and with the return on Monday we will have a greater view of our abilities over the Bank Holiday weekend.”

Steve Worrall will again deputise for Adam Ellis while Lewis Bridger will be taking to the track if he comes through Wednesday’s British Semi Final at Rye House having decided to ride through his current problems.
