The Hammers Derby return
The Vortex Hammers return to action at the Arena Essex Raceway this Friday, 18th July, with a local derby clash with the Eastbourne Eagles.
The meeting will see the season’s debut of Hammers young Swede Kim Nilsson and Promoter Jon Cook is relishing the prospect of another tough meeting.
He has stated: “These are always great meetings and the team are keen to go into this busy pre Speedway World Cup spell with a home win to take us onto Leicester (Saturday) and Wolverhampton (Monday).”
The two teams for Friday’s home Elite League match are:
The Vortex Lakeside Hammers: Davey Watt (captain), Richard Lawson, Lewis Bridger, Kim Nilsson, Rory Schlein, Ben Morley and Adam Ellis.
The Eastbourne Lifestyle Eagles: Bjarne Pedersen, Timo Lahti, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Cameron Woodward (Captain), Mikkel Michelsen R/R, Lewis Blackbird and Daniel Halsey.
This Elite League match will get underway with the parade of riders at 7.45pm and the first race at 8pm. However, for those fans that arrive early there will be a series of Junior Demonstration Races that will start at 7.30pm.
