Young Hammers aim to banish the blues

Lakeside Hammers fans will look to rising stars Jerran Hart, Shane Hazelden and Marc Owen to banish the blues after a week to forget for the senior team on its travels. All three line up at the Raceway for tonight’s British Under 21 Final with Hart in particular favoured to press for a rostrum position.

Co-Promoter Jon Cook commented “This is the final time we stage the event and its apt that we do so we three assets in the line-up, I hope that all Hammers fans will turn out and show their support for the boys”

On the senior side Cook added “There are no excuses to offer for this week’s performances and our problems are most acute within the top five where each rider has yet to find any consistency and that is not what we expected, obviously, when building the team in this manner. The boys are under no illusions that this has to be turned around quickly and we have every confidence in them to do it as all have shown their true capabilities in at least one meeting thus far, the key is for them all to hit form together”.

The Hammers next meeting is at Belle Vue on Monday when the popular Stuart Robson makes his seasonal debut before the return to the raceway for the Good Friday showdown at 1pm with league leaders Eastbourne.
