The Vortex Hammers have renamed their team for the forthcoming fixtures with Steve Boxall coming in following two impressive guest performances in place of Ashley Birks, who has a string of fixture clashes coming up with his Sheffield commitments making him unavailable to ride for the Hammers, including home meetings against Coventry and Poole.

Jon Cook explained: “It’s a rock and a hard place time for Neil Vatcher and myself. We’re really enjoying working with Ash (Ashley Birks), who has really fitted in well with the Club, but we simply don’t have acceptable standard riders around to replace him within the next twenty eight days and as the rules stand Steve Boxall only has two more guest appearances for us so this move has to happen for us to be at our strongest against Coventry and Poole.”
