Hammers owner Stuart Douglas says all options for the future of the club are still being explored.

“We are at a very delicate stage in the negotiations – it doesn’t just involve us, but several parties, so all we can do is keep stating our strengths and our case for any scenario.

I appreciate this is a nervy time for the fans, but as soon as we have real, concrete news we will share it. Speculative comments are baseless and pointless.

We hope to have firm news ahead of our AGM deadline of the 17th October and as is our way, we’ll call a public meeting at that time so our fans hear first.

Just to add, my speedway heritage is Essex, ever since my days at Rayleigh, and keeping speedway going in Essex has always been our number one priority – that has not changed.”
