Panthers hit the Raceway – latest update

Former Speedway World Champion, and ever controversial Danish Grand Prix racer, Nicki Pedersen, has been forced to pull out of the meeting at the Arena-Essex Raceway this Friday, 19th August, due to illness.

After struggling to find a guest for their number one, The Panthers will now operate Rider Replacement for Pedersen and have drafted in Magnus Karlsson as a guest for Krzysztof Buczkowski.

This Friday see’s a meeting neither team can afford to lose if their Elite league Play Offs aspirations are to continue.

The injury ravaged Hammers call upon guest riders to complete their line up as Team Manager Neil Vatcher also makes changes to the riding order to get the best from the team.

He has added Swindon’s young Dane Nicolai Klindt as a guest for the injured Adam Shields and he joins Wolverhampton’s Ty Proctor as a replacement for Peter Ljung, who will be competing in the Grand Prix Challenge Final along with Panthers Polish rider Krzysztof Buczkowski. However, Kauko Nieminen returns to the Hammers side after having missed last Friday’s match against Swindon due to his Premier League commitments with Leicester.

The Lakeside Hammers team for Friday will, therefore, be: Lee Richardson (Great Britain), Ty Proctor (Australia), Kauko Nieminen (Finland ), Nicolai Klindt (Denmark), Robert Mear (Great Britain ) and Kim Nilsson (Sweden) with ‘Rider Replacement’ for Piotr Swiderski (Poland).

The Peterborough Panthers team will be: RR Nicki Pederson, Magnus Karlsson (Guest) Norbert Kosciuch (Poland), Linus Sundstrom ( Sweden), Troy Batchelor (Australia), Kacper Gomolski (Poland) and Richard Lawson (Great Britain ).

However, for those supporters able to arrive early, there will be a series of four races, starting at 7pm, involving eight British Under 16 riders, with four riders in each of the 125cc and 250cc classes.
